New Delhi, Nov. 3 -- Vinay Singh, a co-founder and partner at Fireside Ventures, has decided to leave after nearly a decade with the consumer-focused venture capital firm.

Singh said in a statement he was looking to explore the implications of agentic commerce on the future of consumption. "As AI reshapes commerce faster than most of us expected, I want to spend more time exploring the frontiers of agentic commerce and its implications for the future of consumption," he said.

At Fireside, Singh worked closely with founders across beauty and personal care, food and beverages, wellness and lifestyle sectors.

Singh began his career at Hindustan Unilever, where he held brand management and marketing roles for seven years. He briefly worked at BankBazaar India before becoming an entrepreneur in 2014 when he co-founded Stepni.com, a car-servicing platform. The firm was acquired a couple of years later, with Singh transitioning into an advisory role at McKinsey & Company until Fireside was founded in 2017.

Kanwaljit Singh, founder and managing partner at Fireside Ventures, said Singh was integral to building Fireside.

Apart from Kanwaljit Singh, Fireside's leadership comprises co-founders and partners Kannan Sitaram and Dipanjan Basu, and partner Adarsh Menon. The firm also has 12 principals and vice presidents.

In December last year, the VC firm closed its fourth fund after raising Rs 2,265 crore ($253 million) from a diverse set of limited partners (LPs) such as US university endowments, sovereign wealth funds such as Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Investment Corporation of Dubai, global financial institutions such as HarbourVest and Fidelity International, and consumer-focused companies like Emami Ltd.

The firm planned to invest in 30-35 early-stage startups across seed, pre-Series A, and Series A rounds. Since then, the firm has invested in around 18 companies. These include mental health care firm Amaha, home appliance firm Beyond Appliances, delivery firm Fixxly, baby care company Promom, omnichannel grocery startup Anmasa, ethnic wear brand Kisah, kitchen appliance brand Nester India, pet care firm Supertails, healthy kid snacking brand Troovy, and beauty and personal care brand Moxie Beauty.
