India, Oct. 26 -- Rolls-Royce, on 14 July 2026, announced that four mtu 12V 396 TE54 generator sets had been installed on INS Mahendragiri, the sixth indigenous Nilgiri class stealth frigate commissioned by the Indian Navy. INS Mahendragiri, designed by the Indian Navy's Warship Design Bureau, features over 75% indigenous content, advanced stealth technology, and modern weapons and sensors. The ship is equipped with four Rolls-Royce's mtu 12V 396 TE54 generator sets, each providing 1 MW of electrical power to "support complex operational requirements and ensure high mission availability".
