India, Aug. 25 -- The keel laying ceremony of Yard 16404, fourth of 6 Next Generation Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPVs) was held at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (MDL), Mumbai on 25 June 2026. The ceremony was presided over by senior officials from the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and MDL. The contract for the construction of 6 Next Generation OPVs was concluded on 20 December 2023. The ship will feature modern machinery and other systems.
