India, Aug. 29 -- Although not based at Florennes, the audience could also see the recently delivered Airbus H-145M helicopter. This sample belongs to an order of 15, of which the final delivery is foreseen by the end of 2027. The H-145's are part of the Belgian Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) programme, which overtakes tasks of the NH-90 TTH and A-109 helicopters, and are based at Beauvechain air base. The future missions of the Belgian H-145's include Medical Evacuation (MedEvac), tactical air transport, observation and reconnaissance, support of Special Forces (SF) and rescue operations. The helicopter can also be equipped with a bambi bucket underneath, for forest fire fighting duties.
