India, Aug. 30 -- An official announcement was made on 31 May confirming series production of the Agni-II intermediate range ballistic missile (IRBM) at the state owned Bharat Dynamics Limited facility at Hyderabad. Defence Minister Jaswant Singh told the Parliamentary Consultative Committee on Defence that the 2,500 km range missile would be inducted into the Armed Forces during 2001-02.
