, Feb. 13 -- SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday informed the Assembly that over 12,000 kilograms of rotten and unsafe meat has been seized and destroyed across the Union Territory during the current financial year 2025-26 (up to December 2025).

Replying to a question in the House, the Health & Medical Education Department, as per KNO, said that while food adulteration is not a generalised fact, incidents relating to sale and seizure of rotten/unsafe meat were reported in Kashmir Valley during routine surveillance and special enforcement drives conducted across districts.
