JAMMU, Sept. 17 -- A 35-year-old man died after sustaining a gunshot injury inside his house here on Thursday, officials said.

The deceased was identified as Deepak Sharma, a resident of Reshamgarh Colony in Jammu city and a newspaper hawker by profession, they said.

His relatives claimed that Sharma was shot in the forehead by an unidentified assailant who allegedly entered the house around noon.

A police party has rushed to the scene and further investigation is on, the officials said, adding that the body was shifted to the mortuary of the Government Medical College hospital for postmortem.
