Industry-leading construction firm pledges additional support towards public service
scholarship honoring University president, other key needs
The Baltimore-based Whiting-Turner Construction Company pledged an additional $1 million
in funding for The University of Baltimore to help close out the school's 100th anniversary
on a high note. The gift will be spread over the next five years and will help support
University students in two ways: a quarter of a million dollars was earmarked for
the recently endowed President Kurt L. Schmoke Scholarship, while the remainder of
