BLACKSBURG, Va., Sept. 28 -- Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University issued the following news release:
Warren Dixon, professor and dean of the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech, has been named the Paul and Dorothea Torgersen Dean of Engineering by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors.
The Paul and Dorothea Torgersen Dean's Chair in Engineering was established in 2006 by Eric E. Schmidt, chairman and chief executive officer of Google, to honor the Torgersens' commitment to Virginia Tech.
Dixon joined Virginia Tech on July 10 after a distinguished career at the University of Florida, where he most recently served as interim dean of the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering and as a distinguished professor of mechanical ...
