U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), Ed Markey (D-Mass.), and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) pressed the Trust for the National Mall on its "woefully inadequate" responses to the lawmakers' October 2025 letter, pushing for more information on the organization's role as the fundraising conduit for President Donald Trump's $400 million ballroom. According to reports, the Trust for the National Mall could earn as much as $10 million in fees for its role in managing the contributions.
