ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,555,430, issued on Feb. 17, was assigned to ZEPHYR SECURE INC. (Newtown, Conn.).
"Electronic lock with photovoltaic cells" was invented by Patrick E. Wind (Darien, Conn.) and Timothy Marshall (Wolcott, Conn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An electronic lock, including: a power storage device; and photovoltaic cells located on a surface of the electronic lock, the photovoltaic cells being electrically coupled to the power storage device in order to provide a charging current to the power storage device."
