ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,666,194, issued on June 23, was assigned to xMEMS Labs Inc. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Wearable device and signal processing method" was invented by Jemm Yue Liang (Sunnyvale, Calif.), Hsi-Sheng Chen (Fremont, Calif.) and Eldwin Jiaqiang Ng (Sunnyvale, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The wearable device includes a sound producing device and a sound sensing device. The sound producing device produces a front radiating wave and a back radiating wave while producing the sound. The sound sensing device is disposed on a nodal position where the front radiating wave and the back radiating wave cancel each other on the nodal position."
