US Patent Issued to Whitecap Industries on July 21 for "Socket retainer assembly" (New Jersey, Minnesota Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,686,470, issued on July 21, was assigned to Whitecap Industries Inc. (Piscataway, N.J.).

"Socket retainer assembly" was invented by Todd Moore (St. Paul, Minn.) and Christopher E. Tomao (Robbinsville, N.J.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A socket retainer assembly configured to retain a ball of the ball assembly is described. The socket retainer includes a slidable locking pin. The socket retainer is configured for mounting of a roof or tarp used on marine vessels, for example, a Bimini top."
