ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,595,625, issued on April 7, was assigned to WestRock MWV LLC (Atlanta).
"Heat sealable barrier paperboard" was invented by Jiebin Pang (Glen Allen, Va.), Natasha G. Melton (Richmond, Va.), Teresa Krug (Henrico, Va.) and Steven Parker (Raleigh, N.C.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An aqueous coated paperboard is disclosed which exhibits good barrier properties and anti-blocking behavior and is heat sealable."
The patent was filed on Nov. 9, 2022, under Application No. 18/053,894.
