US Patent Issued to Weatherford Technology Holdings on Aug. 25 for "Sub-surface release plug with pressure bypass" (Dutch Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,716,323, issued on Aug. 25, was assigned to Weatherford Technology Holdings LLC (Houston).

"Sub-surface release plug with pressure bypass" was invented by Marcel Budde (Vlaardingen, Netherlands), Mark Baas (Vlaardingen, Netherlands) and Carlo Mak (Vlaardingen, Netherlands).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A wiper plug assembly has a bypass passageway to allow pressure equalization between the wellbore below the plug and the annulus above the plug.
