"Spiraea plant named 'WALPLUCAR'" was invented by Dawn Smith (Arundel, Great Britain).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new Spiraea plant particularly distinguished by having deep plum red glossy rugose juvenile spring foliage with deeply sulcate veins; and right pink-red inflorescences."
