ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 4 -- United States Patent no. 12,318,555, issued on June 3, was assigned to W. L. Gore & Associates Inc. (Newark, Del.).

"Deconstructable endoluminal devices and related systems and methods" was invented by Edward H. Cully (Flagstaff, Ariz.), Jeffrey B. Duncan (Flagstaff, Ariz.) and Brian C. Martonik (Elkton, Md.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An endoluminal device comprises a tubular member and a reinforcement member that is separable from, or together with, a wall of the tubular member, and removable in-situ."
