US Patent Issued to Volvo Truck on Oct. 20 for "Method of controlling a propulsion system" (Swedish Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,766,979, issued on Oct. 20, was assigned to Volvo Truck Corp. (Gothenburg, Sweden).

"Method of controlling a propulsion system" was invented by Mats Jonasson (Partille, Sweden), Sachin Janardhanan (Hisings Karra, Sweden), Leo Laine (Gothenburg, Sweden), Esteban Gelso (Vastra Frolunda, Sweden) and Jose Vilca (Gothenburg, Sweden).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of controlling a vehicle propulsion system comprising at least two motion support devices, wherein each motion support device comprises an actuator configured to apply a torque on at least one wheel of a vehicle during propulsion and to generate electric power during braking....
