US Patent Issued to VLP Therapeutics on May 26 for "Galectin-targeting immunotherapy" (Maryland Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,636,341, issued on May 26, was assigned to VLP Therapeutics Inc. (Wilmington, Del.).

"Galectin-targeting immunotherapy" was invented by Wataru Akahata (Kensington, Md.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure provides a virus like particle comprising a viral structural protein and a galectin epitope peptide, and a composition or vaccine comprising thereof, its use in a medicine, particularly in an immunotherapy."
