ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,746,154, issued on Sept. 29, was assigned to ViaLase Inc. (Aliso Viejo, Calif.).

"Non-invasive and minimally invasive laser surgery for the reduction of intraocular pressure in the eye" was invented by Ferenc Raksi (Mission Viejo, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Intraocular pressure in an eye is reduced by delivering a high resolution optical coherence tomography (OCT) beam and a high resolution laser beam through the cornea, and the anterior chamber into the irido-corneal angle along an angled beam path.
