ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,600,554, issued on April 14, was assigned to Vericool World LLC (San Ramon, Calif.).
"Insulated shipping container and method of making" was invented by Gary W. Lantz (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An insulating shipping container includes an exterior box formed of paper defining a cavity and an interior box formed of paper and positioned within said cavity. The interior box defines a product cavity. A compressed mass of compostable insulating plant material is received in the cavity and around the interior box and covered by a collar."
