ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,623,927, issued on May 12, was assigned to UWM Research Foundation Inc. (Milwaukee).

"Functionalized layered double hydroxides for treatment of contaminated water" was invented by Shangping Xu (Mequon, Wis.), Yin Wang (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) and Jingwan Huo (Shorewood, Wis.).
