ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,741,640, issued on Sept. 22, was assigned to UT-Battelle LLC (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) and Alliance for Energy Innovation LLC (Golden, Colo.).

"Energy-efficient vehicle and/or traffic light control" was invented by Jinghui Yuan (Knoxville, Tenn.), Wan Li (Knoxville, Tenn.), Chieh Wang (Knoxville, Tenn.), Timothy LaClair (Lenoir City, Tenn.), Haowen Xu (Knoxville, Tenn.), Andreas Silvan Berres (Lakewood, Colo.), Hyeonsup Lim (Buford, Ga.), Yunli Shao (Knoxville, Tenn.), Hong Wang (Knoxville, Tenn.), Ali Riza Ekti (Knoxville, Tenn.) and Jibonananda Sanyal (Littleton, Colo.).
