ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,576,192, issued on March 17, was assigned to University of Pittsburgh-Of the Commonwealth System of Higher Education (Pittsburgh) and Ri.MED Foundation (Palermo, Italy).
"Multi-layered graft for tissue engineering applications" was invented by Antonio D'Amore (Pittsburgh), Matteo Solazzo (Dublin) and William R. Wagner (Gibsonia, Pa.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A multi-layer device is provided that is useful in tissue regeneration, for example, for vascular regeneration, e.g., for use in treatment of a coronary vascular disease, such as for treatment of myocardial infarction.
