ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,441,624, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON SYSTEM (Houston).
"N-type Mg 3.2 Bi 2 -based materials for thermoelectric cooling application" was invented by Zhifeng Ren (Pearland, Texas) and Jun Mao (Houston).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "New thermoelectric materials, such as Mg3Bi2-based Zintl phase compounds are described, where the semi-metallic Mg3.2Bi2 show an unexpectedly large Seebeck coefficient at 350 K and enhanced thermoelectric performances."
The patent was filed on July 3, 2020, under Application No. 17/616,995.
