US Patent Issued to University of Galway on Oct. 27 for "Fistula treatment device" (Irish, American Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 27 -- United States Patent no. 12,773,196, issued on Oct. 27, was assigned to University of Galway (Galway, Ireland).

"Fistula treatment device" was invented by Eoin Bambury (Galway, Ireland) and Moshe Zilversmit (Campbell, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A fistula treatment system comprises a guide such as a guide coil 1101 which is adapted to extend partially around a tissue tract and an implant element 1102. The implant element 1102 is activated to draw tissue surrounding the tract inwardly."
