ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,637,709, issued on May 26, was assigned to University of Florida Research Foundation Inc. (Gainesville, Fla.).

"Method for detecting SARS-CoV-related betacoronaviruses" was invented by Michael McIntosh (Gainesville, Fla.) and Ibukun A. Akinyemi (Gainesville, Fla.).
