ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,623,762, issued on May 12, was assigned to UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA RESEARCH FOUNDATION INC. (Gainesville, Fla.).

"Bathy-drone: an autonomous unmanned drone-tethered sonar system" was invented by Peter G. Ifju (Gainesville, Fla.), Andrew Everette Ortega (Gainesville, Fla.), Henry Tingle (Gainesville, Fla.) and Antonio Diaz (Gainesville, Fla.).
