ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,539,519, issued on Feb. 3, was assigned to University of Central Florida Research Foundation Inc. (Orlando, Fla.).

"Powder milling" was invented by Romain Gaume (Lake Mary, Fla.) and Matthew Julian (Merritt Island, Fla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method can include milling a powder with a test grinding media, and determining an amount of abraded grinding media that abrades from the test grinding media into the powder due to the milling of the powder. The method can include creating a compensated powder to account for the amount of the abraded grinding media such that the powder milling process results in a desired powder composition...
