ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,666,839, issued on June 23, was assigned to Universal Display Corp. (Ewing, N.J.).
"Organic electroluminescent devices" was invented by Michael Hack (Carmel, Calif.), Michael Stuart Weaver (Princeton, N.J.) and Julia J. Brown (Yardley, Pa.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Devices, pixel arrangements, and fabrication techniques thereof are provided for devices that include pixels having red, green, and blue sub-pixels, where the blue sub-pixel is shared among more than one pixel in the arrangement. The display includes fewer than three data lines per pixel and uses only three colors of sub-pixel."
