ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,486,530, issued on Dec. 2, was assigned to Ultivue Inc. (Cambridge, Mass.).

"Multiplexed imaging using strand displacement" was invented by Xi Chen (West Newton, Mass.) and Stephanie Hennek (Medford, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure describes various improved methods for imaging at least one target in a sample, including methods employing an adapter strand oligonucleotide and a bridge strand oligonucleotide. Some methods also employ bouncer oligonucleotides and/or blocker oligonucleotides.
