US Patent Issued to Trustees of Tufts College on Sept. 29 for "Imidazole-based synthetic lipidoids for in vivo mRNA delivery into immune cells" (Massachusetts Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,747,214, issued on Sept. 29, was assigned to Trustees of Tufts College (Medford, Mass.).

"Imidazole-based synthetic lipidoids for in vivo mRNA delivery into immune cells" was invented by Qiaobing Xu (Lexington, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed are lipid compounds comprising imidazole heads and lipidoid nanoparticles (LNPs) comprising the lipidoid compounds disclosed herein for efficient nucleic acid delivery to T cells."

The patent was filed on March 2, 2021, under Application No. 17/909,260.
