US Patent Issued to Transportation IP Holdings on Sept. 8 for "Locomotive sensor system for monitoring engine and lubricant health" (New York, Texas, Pennsylvania Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,730,102, issued on Sept. 8, was assigned to Transportation IP Holdings LLC (Norwalk, Conn.).

"Locomotive sensor system for monitoring engine and lubricant health" was invented by Radislav Alexandrovich Potyrailo (Niskayuna, N.Y.), Igor Tokarev (Niskayuna, N.Y.), Najeeb M. Kuzhiyil (McKinney, Texas) and Pradheepram Ottikkutti (Lawrence Park, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A locomotive sensor system includes a sensor configured to be in contact with lubricant within an engine of a locomotive. The sensor includes a sensing region circuit that is configured to generate stimuli at different times during an operational life of the engine. ...
