ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,577,600, issued on March 17, was assigned to TRANSLATE BIO INC. (Waltham, Mass.).
"Modification of RNA-related enzymes for enhanced production" was invented by Bettina Strack-Logue (Lexington, Mass.), Frank DeRosa (Lexington, Mass.) and Michael Heartlein (Lexington, Mass.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides, among other things, methods and compositions for large-scale production of capped mRNA using SUMO-Guanylyl Transferase fusion protein."
The patent was filed on Oct. 5, 2023, under Application No. 18/481,401.
