ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,567,170, issued on March 3, was assigned to Toyota Research Institute Inc. (Los Altos, Calif.) and Toyota Jidosha K.K. (Toyota, Japan).

"Producing a depth map from two-dimensional images" was invented by Vitor Guizilini (Santa Clara, Calif.), Rares A. Ambrus (San Francisco), Dian Chen (Mountain View, Calif.), Adrien David Gaidon (Mountain View, Calif.) and Sergey Zakharov (San Francisco).
