According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A controller of a hybrid vehicle gives priority to motor driving area driving control to increase a power storage ratio of a storage device from a point that is a first predetermined distance ahead of starting point of motor driving area so as to enable motor driving in the motor driving area over power storage ratio adjustment control, when there is the motor driving area set as an area to be motor driven in a planned or estimated driving route."
