US Patent Issued to TOYOTA JIDOSHA on April 21 for "Engine with reduced noise" (Japanese Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,607,137, issued on April 21, was assigned to TOYOTA JIDOSHA K.K. (Toyota, Japan).

"Engine with reduced noise" was invented by Taro Furukoshi (Toyota, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An engine comprising: a crankcase having an opening at a lower portion thereof; and an oil pan connected to a lower portion of the crankcase so as to close the opening, wherein the crankcase includes a reinforcing plate portion integrally formed with the crankcase so as to span the opening."
