ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,411,023, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to TomTom Global Content B.V. (Amsterdam).

"Method and system for video-based positioning and mapping utilizing a pixel wise segmentation on an image of a detected object" was invented by Tinosch Kolagheichi-Ganjineh (Berlin), Philipp Holzschneider (Berlin), Dimitri Schachmann (Berlin), Sergej Mann (Berlin), Sebastian Ihlefeld (Berlin), Michael Hofmann (Amsterdam), Olaf Booij (Leiden, Netherlands) and Nicolau Leal Werneck (Amsterdam).
