ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,674,025, issued on July 7, was assigned to TOKYO INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (Tokyo) and NOF Corp. (Tokyo).

"Branched type hetero monodispersed polyethylene glycol, production method thereof, and conjugate thereof" was invented by Kazushi Kinbara (Tokyo), Tomoki Uruga (Tsukuba, Japan) and Tomoyuki Ohtake (Tsukuba, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An intermediate for production of a branched type hetero monodispersed polyethylene glycol which is represented by formula (2), the intermediate being represented by formula (3) or (40):where X1, L1, L3, Y1, Y2, and n are as defined herein."
