ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,662,677, issued on June 23, was assigned to The Scripps Research Institute (La Jolla, Calif.).
"Chimeric polypeptides having targeted binding specificity" was invented by Carlos F. Barbas III (La Jolla, Calif.), Andrew Mercer (Poolesville, Md.), Brian M. Lamb (San Diego) and Thomas Gaj (Solana Beach, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein are chimeric polypeptides, including compositions thereof, expression vectors, and methods of use thereof, for the generation of transgenic cells, tissues, plants, and animals. The compositions, vectors, and methods of the present invention are also useful in gene therapy techniques."
