ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,469,243, issued on Nov. 11, was assigned to The Regents of the University of California (Oakland, Calif.).
"Polarimetric camera" was invented by Luat Thanh Vuong (Riverside, Calif.), Xiaojing Weng (Riverside, Calif.), Altai Perry (Riverside, Calif.) and Ji Feng (Riverside, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A polarization-sensitive encoder, a polarimetric camera, and a method for polarimetric imaging in which the encoder includes a two-dimensional (2D) polycrystalline photonic-crystal film with nanofiber, multi-scale, self-assembled structures."
The patent was filed on Feb. 7, 2024, under Application No. 18/435,104.
