ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,644,045, issued on June 2, was assigned to THE HONG KONG UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (Hong Kong).
"Fluorescent compounds and application thereof" was invented by Benzhong Tang (Hong Kong), Zheng Zhao (Hong Kong), Hao Xing (Hong Kong) and Ying Yu (Hong Kong).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention discloses donor-acceptor structured, aggregated-induced emission fluorescent compounds with deep-red (DR) or near-infrared (NIR). The present invention also shows application in bio-imaging or optoelectronic devices with the fluorescent compounds."
The patent was filed on Sept. 16, 2021, under Application No. 17/476,854.
