ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,558,655, issued on Feb. 24, was assigned to The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Hong Kong).

"Transparent reusable ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene air filter" was invented by Ping Gao (Hong Kong), Qiao Gu (Hong Kong) and Shu Kwan Cheung (Hong Kong).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In particles removal with extremely high filtration efficiency and the ability to block submicron airborne particles by a sieving mechanism is provided.
