ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,649,823, issued on June 9, was assigned to THE FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY RESEARCH FOUNDATION INC. (Tallahassee, Fla.).

"Lignin based biodegradable polymers and methods of making the same" was invented by Hoyong Chung (Tallahassee, Fla.).
