ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,301,294, issued on May 13, was assigned to The Boeing Co. (Arlington, Va.).
"Optical communication using double sideband suppressed carrier demodulation" was invented by James D. Franklin (Manhattan Beach, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method for operating an optical demodulator includes receiving a double sideband suppressed carrier ("DSBSC") optical signal. The method further includes passing the DSBSC optical signal through a Costas loop circuit. The method further includes outputting a radio frequency ("RF") signal from a quadrature port of the Costas loop circuit."
