ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,643,971, issued on June 2, was assigned to The Board of Trustees of The University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa, Ala.).

"Materials for reducing acids from liquid phases" was invented by Jason Edward Bara (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) and Steven Thomas Weinman (Northport, Ala.).
