ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 7 -- United States Patent no. D1,132,776, issued on July 7, was assigned to Tesseract Ventures LLC (Lenexa, Kan.).
"Drone" was invented by John Boucard (Kansas City, Mo.), Jason Harrell (Tampa, Fla.), Greg Lorett (Kansas City, Mo.), Josh Holloway (Overland Park, Mo.) and Griffin Garbutt (Overland Park, Mo.).
