US Patent Issued to Tencent America on April 14 for "Conditional application of refinement technique" (California, Pennsylvania Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,604,016, issued on April 14, was assigned to Tencent America LLC (Palo Alto, Calif.).

"Conditional application of refinement technique" was invented by Guichun Li (San Jose, Calif.), Xiang Li (Saratoga, Calif.), Xiaozhong Xu (State College, Pa.) and Shan Liu (San Jose, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In method for video decoding in a decoder, prediction information of a current block in a current picture is decoded from a coded video bitstream.
