ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,555,974, issued on Feb. 17, was assigned to TDK Corp. (Tokyo).
"Optical device" was invented by Tetsuya Shibata (Tokyo), Hideaki Fukuzawa (Tokyo), Tomohito Mizuno (Tokyo) and Masahiro Shinkai (Tokyo).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The optical device includes a magnetic element including a first ferromagnetic layer, a second ferromagnetic layer, and a spacer layer sandwiched between the first ferromagnetic layer and the second ferromagnetic layer, and a laser diode. At least a part of light emitted from the laser diode is applied to the magnetic element."
The patent was filed on Sept. 7, 2022, under Application No. 17/939,472.
