US Patent Issued to SUMITOMO METAL MINING on Jan. 20 for "Positive electrode active material for all-solid-state lithium ion secondary battery and method for manufacturing the same" (Japanese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,531,240, issued on Jan. 20, was assigned to SUMITOMO METAL MINING Co. LTD. (Tokyo).

"Positive electrode active material for all-solid-state lithium ion secondary battery and method for manufacturing the same" was invented by Hitomi Nakamura (Niihama, Japan), Ryosuke Okamoto (Niihama, Japan), Kazuhide Hayashi (Niihama, Japan) and Mikako Toma (Niihama, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A positive electrode active material includes a lithium-nickel composite oxide particle and a coating layer. The particle has a crystal structure belonging to a space group R-3m, contains at least Li, Ni, an element M, and Nb, wherein Li:Ni:M:Nb=a:(1-x-y)...
